David Wilson – Director
Why cloudCIO?
cloudCIO provides commercially focused IT governance for businesses seeking to ensure IT becomes (and remains) an enabler of strategic business objectives in this rapidly changing and cloud-centric IT landscape.
cloudCIO was established in 2018 to address a growing demand from NZ businesses that desire the benefits of modern cloud technology but don’t have the resources to stay across the latest trends to understand what can be safely applied for maximum business impact.
The role of a Chief Information Officer (CIO) is not new in large corporates, however the growing reliance on technology across all areas of business has created a growing demand for commercially savvy IT business advice within New Zealand’s mid-market, that still don’t need (and typically can’t yet afford) a full-time CIO, but would significantly benefit from this type of input.
Background:
Prior to forming cloudCIO and relocating to Nelson in 2018, David spent over three years as Sales Manager for Houston Technology Group (HTG) in Hamilton, a well established IT support company over 30-years old.
While there, he introduced highly scalable fixed-cost IT managed services frameworks to deliver budget certainty and improved client value, and improved efficiencies in performance, visibility and accountability within HTG’s sales and account management teams.
These changes, in conjunction with equally progressive improvements within the Technical Services department, resulted in unprecedented levels of client satisfaction and stability.
Forming cloudCIO has given David the ability to focus time directly engaging with NZ companies to assist them to improve productivity and profit through improved use of technology.
